§ Baroness TrumpingtonUnder Clause 8 of the Food Safety Bill currently before Parliament, any2088WA person who sells for human consumption, offers or has in his possession for the purpose of such sale any foodstuff (with or without an ingredients list) which fails to comply with food safety requirements would be guilty of an offence. Food safety requirements cover food which has been rendered injurious to health, or is unfit for human consumption, or is so contaminated that it would not be reasonable for it to be used in that state for human consumption. The requirements apply to manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.
