asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Official Secrets Act applies to ex-Ministers who take up jobs in the private sector; if not, why not; and if so, how is their observance of its provisions monitored.

Former Ministers are subject to the provisions of the Official Secrets Act 1989. Any apparent breach of the Act would be investigated in the usual way.
