§ Mr. ScottOur proposals to improve the balance and structure of social security benefits for disabled people and their carers are set out in "The Way Ahead: Benefits for Disabled People" (Cm. 917) which we put before the House on 10 January. In 1993–94 the changes will add some £300 million to the £8.3 billion we are already spending on benefits for long-term sick and disabled people and their carers.
