To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what are the most up-to-date figures or estimates available to him of the tonnage of coal imports into(a) Scotland and (b) Great Britain as a whole for 1989, 1990, 1991.

Information on coal imports is available for the period January to November 1989 as shown in the table. We do not produce estimates for future years.
