§ Mr. John PattenFifteen projects are now operating and one more should be in place next month. Two hundred and sixty grants, totalling over £1.8 million, have now been agreed to support local crime prevention initiatives. The initiatives cover a wide range of activities which come within four broad categories—physical security improvements; activities for young people; changes in local services to take account of the need to prevent crime; and educational and development opportunities for individuals and communities.
