To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has for the disabled students' allowance.

My right hon. Friend currently has the operation of the disabled students' allowance under review in the context of the annual review of the awards regulations. He envisages announcing the outcome of this in time for any changes to take effect from 1 September 1990.
