Mr. Oppenheim

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list all shire counties in rank order of spending per head for(a) 1988–89, (b) 1989–90, so far as possible and (c) 1990–91, based on any available spending proposals.

The information for 1988–89 and 1989–90 is in the tables. Corresponding information for 1990–91 is not yet available.

The spending per head of population given in the tables has been calculated using Office of Population Censuses and Surveys mid-year estimates of total population.
