HC Deb 26 February 1990 vol 168 c71W
Sir Richard Body

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what information he has received from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society about the number of inspections made on its behalf of turkey-rearing units owned by companies that compound their own foodstuffs to ascertain whether they are complying with the law relating to antibiotics.

Mr. Maclean

In 1989 inspectors of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain made 925 visits to premises registered for the manufacture of medicated feedingstuffs. It is not possible to identify separately how many of these were to turkey rearing units.
