To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the cost to public funds of the inquiry by West Yorkshire police into alleged police corruption involving certain Merseyside officers; and if he will make a statement.

I understand that the charges which have been agreed by the West Yorkshire police for the investigation have totalled £43,600.
