§ Mr. John PattenThe last such meeting with the Home Secretary took place on 3 August 1987, when my right hon. Friend the Member for Witney (Mr. Hurd) met representatives of the National Association of Probation Officers to discuss the document "Probation—The Next Five Years". I last met NAPO on 4 July 1988 to discuss the forthcoming Green Paper "Punishment, Custody and the Community". It has not requested a meeting since that date. Home Office officials have frequent meetings with NAPO.
