§ Mrs. RumboldThe following figures relate to attempts made by 14 and 15-year-olds. In 1988, 8.6 per cent. of GCSE attempts resulted in a grade A. Grade A results at O-level in 1987 constituted 13.9 per cent. of all O-level attempts and 5.3 per cent. of all O-level and CSE attempts. Comparable figures for 1989 are not yet available.
