HC Deb 19 February 1990 vol 167 c575W
Rev. Martin Smyth

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what building will be vacated in the Stormont estate with the transfer of civil servants to the Castle Court building; and what plans there are for the use of the vacant offices.

Mr. Cope

[holding answer 12 February 1990]: The transfer of civil servants to the Castle Court building will vacate part of Castle Buildings in the Stormont estate. It is proposed that the space freed in Castle Buildings will be used by DHSS staff moving from Dundonald house, and the space thus vacated in Dundonald house will be used by DANI and NIO, alleviating current overcrowding and allowing greater centralisation of departmental functions.
