HC Deb 19 February 1990 vol 167 c545W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he has any plans to make Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease a notifiable disease; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeman

We have no plans to do so. The study to be conducted by Dr. R. G. Will—I refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Caerphilly (Mr. Davies) on 10 January at column665—is considered to be a more reliable method of monitoring the incidence of this disease.
