To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what volume of blood was donated via the blood transfusion service in(a) 1989, (b) 1984 and (c) 1979;

(2) what volume of blood was imported for use in the National Health Service in (a) 1989, (b) 1984 and (c) 1979; and if he will indicate which countries supplied the imports, giving percentages;

(3) what was the volume of blood used by the National Health Service in (a) 1989, (b) 1984 and (c)

The available information is given in the tables. No whole blood was imported for use in the National Health Service during the years 1979, 1984 and 1989.
