To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what plans he has to merge jobcentres with unemployment benefit offices.

Mr. Eggar

The employment service is working progressively to bring jobcentres and benefit offices together under one roof to provide a new and improved one-stop service.

Over the next few years, the employment service will be working to establish a national network of some 1,100 to 1,200 employment service offices.
