§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe Secretary of State in exercising his functions in relation to agriculture and forestry has a duty to take environmental considerations into account. The Government keep under review their various measures of support for agriculture and forestry and these are increasingly directed at conservation or enhancement of the environment.
