§ Mr. BaldryElectricité de France has been invited to be a party to the pooling and settlement agreement. This will permit EdF to buy and sell electricity on a day-to-day basis. Negotiations are also taking place on longer-term contracts.
§ Dr. Kim HowellsTo ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he has any plans to facilitate the construction of additional cross-Channel electricity interconnectors.
§ Mr. BaldryThe construction of additional cross-Channel electricity interconnectors will be a wholly commercial matter for the parties concerned, subject to their obtaining the necessary planning permission.
