§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list, by cost and project, the aid which is currently given to Bangladesh in the form of(a) grant aid and (b) repayable loans.
§ Mrs. ChalkerUnder British bilateral aid to Bangladesh all assistance is provided in grant form.
Capital aid projects funded under the programme at present are:

In 1988–89 some £14 million was spent on these activities.
In addition, Britain provides commodity aid for goods, equipment and spare parts to maintain and improve existing production capacity in Bangladesh. A grant for £15 million was signed in February 1989.
