Mr. Stevens

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he will implement section 15 of the Companies Act 1989 to enable listed companies to issue summary financial statements.

My Department has today sent draft regulations to interested organisations for their detailed comments, and copies have also been placed in the Library. The proposals take account of the responses to the earlier public consultations and I hope that the response to the proposals will allow regulations to be made early in March, to come into force early in April.
