Friend has already made it clear that no member of the armed forces will suffer financially as a result of being posted to the Gulf.430W Sufficient desert pattern combat clothing has been delivered to meet the needs of the personnel in theatre. More is on order for the additional troops that will deploy with 4 Brigade and 1 Armoured Division. Equipment provided to British troops in the Gulf has been trialled and tested extensively, much of it in hot, dry climates. The equipment in the Gulf is performing well.
