§ Mr. John EvansTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what financial support his Department currently provides for the European information centres in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. ForthThe European information centre network is a European Commission initiative to which the United Kingdom contributes 18.7 per cent. of the budget. In addition, my Department has a small budget for co-ordinating bi-annual meetings of the United Kingdom centres and will also be contributing to the costs of a feasibility study for a national European information centre advertising campaign. My Department also financially supports one of the four pilot centres which is based with the small firms service in London.
