§ Mr. Norman LamontAs the hon. Member knows, the work of the central bank governors was to establish what the arrangements might be if Governments decide that there should be such a bank. The Governor of the Bank of England has placed clearly on record the fundamental 207W reservations of the United Kingdom authorities—that is, the Government and the bank—about a single currency and a single monetary authority.
