(2) what representations he has made with regard to the imprisonment of (a) Malekeh Mohammadi, (b) Zohach Ghaeni and (c) Mariam Firouz by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggNone. But we note that the persons in question are mentioned in the report of the UN special representative on human rights in Iran, Mr. Galindo Pohl, and that he has called on the Iranian Government to respond in detail to the allegations of abuses of human rights put to them.
§ Mrs. MahonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he is making representations to the Islamic Republic of Iran on their human rights record.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggTogether with our partners in the European Community, we are seeking a resolution in the third committee of the United Nations which reflects the state of human rights in Iran. This is a matter we take very seriously.
