§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonMy right hon. and learned Friend has appointed the hon. Lord Grieve VRD, QC, MA., LLB as chairman of the fish farming advisory committee and Professor G. Dunnet as vice-chairman. The membership is made up as follows: Mr. J. A. MacAskill, Highlands and Islands development board; Dr. J. Francis, Nature Conservancy Council; Mr. D. Campbell, Countryside Commission for Scotland; the councillor for the appropriate area of Highland regional council; Messrs I. McLennan and A. Graham, Western Isles islands council; Mr. D. McKerrell, Argyll and Bute district council; Mrs. J. Crichton, Orkney islands council; Mr. T. Kelly, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland; Mr. D. Buchanan, Highland river purification board and Mr. D. Hammerton, Clyde river purification board. Representatives of other statutory bodies may be invited as necessary.
The committee met over 19 and 20 March 1990 in the Fort William area to discuss procedural matters. The committee has been established at the Secretary of State's request by the Crown Estate to advise commissioners on applications for sea bed leases which have given rise to unresolved objections by any of the bodies represented on the committee. The committee stands ready to consider any such cases.
