§ Mr. Colvin
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if his Department achieved the target of 5 per cent. saving in purchasing costs in 1988–89, set by the Paymaster-General, through use of the central unit on purchasing.

§ Mr. Ryder
I am pleased to report that the Treasury (excluding CISCO) achieved an 8.5 per cent. saving in overall purchasing costs in 1988–89.
