§ Mr. Fearn
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what weapons private security firms are empowered to employ in dockyards and ports.

§ Mr. McLoughlin
Private security firms are not empowered to carry firearms in dockyards and ports unless they have a firearms certificate from the chief officer of police under section 1 of the Firearms Act 1968.
