§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyDiscussions have taken place between the chairman of the advisory committee on distinction awards and the Department of Health's officials and with the British Medical Association about ways to make the awards system more open and better understood. Further information about the operation of the awards system, following the changes proposed in the Government's White Paper "Working for Patients" will be available later this year.
