§ Mr. HendersonTo ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what proposals to control the dumping of Indian poplin he will put to the EC as part of the negotiations on the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade rules in relation to textiles.
§ Mr. Redwood[holding answer 18 April 1990]: Our aim in the GATT Uruguay round negotiations is to secure improvements in the general rules governing anti-dumping action. The European Community has put forward proposals for the amendment of the GATT anti-dumping code, some of which are of particular relevance to the textiles sector. Complaints about the dumping of particular products are best followed up with the European Commission in the normal way by the industry concerned.
