§ Mr. Cope[holding answer 3 April 1990]: Three hundred and sixty-one persons were detained under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1989 between the period 1 October 1989 to 31 December 1989. No person was detained during this period under the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1987; and no one was refused access to a solicitor.
