§ Mr. EggarThe efficiency unit and the National Audit Office have both endorsed the scheme as a value-for-money employment measure. Survey evidence shows that 65 per cent. of those people who complete their year in the scheme are still operating their business three years after start-up. These same surveys also show that for every 100 businesses still trading at this stage 114 additional jobs have been created.
