§ Mr. Peter LloydA sentence of six years imprisonment (with maximum remission but without parole) will result in a total period of four years being served in custody. The total period spent in custody, whether before or after sentence, earns remission. Thus, the length of sentence requiring four years to be served after sentence depends on the amount of pre-sentence detention.
