What are the procedures and the criteria governing the strip searching of visitors to Frankland Prison.

Under Prison Rule 86(1) of the Prison Rules 1964, any person entering or leaving a prison may be, searched. The action needing to be taken in an individual case is a matter to be determined in the light of the particular circumstances.
