§ Mr. Norman LamontThe latest estimate of the ratio of general Government expenditure (excluding privatisation proceeds) to gross domestic product in 1989–90, as given in the 1989 Autumn Statement, is 383/4 per cent. The corresponding figure for 1984–85 was 46 per cent.
