§ Mr. AtkinsThe Department is appointing consultants for new schemes included in the White Paper "Roads for Prosperity" in several tranches over a period of about 12 months. I expect to invite competitive bids for this scheme early next year. Our aim will be to consult the public on route options within two years of appointing a consultant.
