HC Deb 15 November 1989 vol 160 c332W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the conservation bodies who have been consulted about the planting of Forestry Commission land on the Isle of Wight with sycamore.

Mr. Curry

Over the last 20 years, the Forestry Commission has planted about eight hectares of land on the Isle of Wight with sycamore, in mixture with other species. No conservation bodies were consulted about this planting as the land concerned was not of special conservation value.
