To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has any plans to amend the Scottish Licensing Act to alleviate the problem of alcohol abuse among young persons under the age of 18 years; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. and learned Friend intends to introduce appropriate provisions amending the Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976 at the next suitable legislative opportunity.
