§ 51. Mr. PageTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received from charities expressing concern over the UFC's proposals for charities to supply funding for university overheads.
Mr. JacksonNeither the UFC nor the Government have any current proposals to change the basis on which charities provide support for university research or other activities. Nor are there any proposals to reduce the present level of public funding provided indirectly through UFC block grant to underpin university research projects sponsored by charities. My right hon. Friend has received two letters opposing such non-existent proposals.
