To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when, and in what way, he intends to give effect to his recent announcement to end the restriction on availability of attendance allowance for severely disabled children under two years old; and if he will make a statement.

The lower age limit for entitlement to attendance allowance will he abolished with effect from next April. The necessary regulations will be laid before Parliament in due course.
