§ The Attorney-GeneralThere is a distinction between a full immunity from prosecution, which might be given to a particular witness, and an assurance to that witness that any evidence he might give would not be used against him in criminal proceedings. I have discussed these matters in general terms with the Director of Public Prosecutions.
