§ 56. Mr. Win GriffithsTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has any new proposals to improve the wholesomeness of food available to the British consumer.
§ Mr. RyderIt is already an offence under food legislation to sell food that is unfit for human consumption or food that is not of the nature, substance or quality demanded by the purchaser. Regulations also already cover matters concerned with the hygiene and handling of food and discussions with interested parties are currently proceeding on how these need to be updated.
