They include expenditure recorded by regional and district health authorities, the special health authorities for the London postgraduate teaching hospitals and sums within the administration expenses of family practitioner committees. The costs of certain other special health authorities and bodies comprising the NHS, and payments made to medical practitioners and others contracted to provide family practitioner services, are excluded. Figures are not available for the replacement of assets.
