§ Mr. ClayTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will provide the most recent figures broken down by (i) year and (ii) section on(a) the number of overpayments recovered under section 53 of the Social Security Act 1986, section 119 of the Social Security Act 1975 and section 20 of the Supplementary Benefit Act 1976, (b) the number of standard letters sent indicating that recovery may be pursued through civil proceedings, (c) the number of cases actually pursued for recovery of overpayments through civil proceedings and (d) the number of cases pursued under (c) which are successful.
