To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the oral answer to the hon. Member for Altrincham and Sale of 13 April,Official Report, column 1053, what account is taken of the sums confiscated from convicted drug traffickers in setting the allocations for (a) rehabilitation of drug offenders, and (b) the prevention of drug trafficking.

We allocate funds to work against drug misuse according to needs and priorities. No direct account is taken of the varying and unpredictable sums confiscated from convicted drug traffickers in different parts of the country.
