To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give details of the conditions under which European regional development funding is currently awarded for water authority schemes.

[holding answer 28 April 1989]: The conditions under which European regional development funds are awarded to water authority schemes are laid down in Council Regulations (EEC) 2052/88, 4253/88 and 4254/88. These appear in Official Journals L1859, L374 Vol. 31 and L374/15 respectively. Copies are available from the Library.
