HL Deb 21 March 1989 vol 505 cc677-8WA
Lord Broadbridge

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the annual report of Ofgas should be widely accessible and if so, whether pricing it at 10-80 by Her Majesty's Stationery Office is likely to lead to its wide dissemination to the consumer.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Energy (Baroness Hooper)

The report received considerable media coverage on publication and there will be many opportunities for the dissemination of its contents. The report itself is not directly intended for individual consumers but it is likely to be more useful to their advisers in those organisations charged with representing their interest. Copies of the report have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses of Parliament and it is open to individual consumers to request a copy from their local library. Ofgas has produced a range of free leaflets about its activities, available from a variety of sources, such as regional offices of the Gas Consumers Council, local citizens advice bureaux and law centres, and other advice agencies.
