To ask the Secretary of State for Wales when he plans to publish a separate commentary on Welsh Office public expenditure.

I am pleased to say that the first Welsh Office public expenditure commentary is being published today. The commentary, which has been produced bilingually, expands upon the information already published in the Wales chapter of the 1989 public expenditure White Paper (Cm. 617), and will be a valuable source document for anyone wanting to know more about the Government's expenditure plans for Wales.

I have arranged for copies of the commentary to be made available through the Vote Office.
