§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyA total of £5,883,990 in national parks supplementary grant has been allocated to Cumbria county council during the period 1985–86 to 1988–89. The corresponding figure for the period 1974–75 and 1978–79 is £2,556,699. In addition, conserNatiori matters are reflected in the needs assessment of local authorities' rate support grant allocation. Authorities are free to determine their own priorities within the total sums available.
