§ Mr. Michael SpicerBritish Coal's productivity, measured in terms of tonnes per manshift, has risen by nearly 93 per cent. from 1973–74 to 1988–89. Between 1973–74 and 1978–79 productivity rose by just over 4 per cent. Between 1978–79 and 1988–89 it rose by some 85 per cent.
