HL Deb 15 June 1989 vol 508 c1632WA
The Earl of Selkirk

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend that regulations under the proposed Section 35B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, will place an obligation on local authorities or on the police to ensure that the notice suspending a long established parking area will be clearly visible to motorists by day and night.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

Any government proposals to make regulations under Section 35B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is to be inserted by Clause 3 of the Parking Bill, would be the subject of consultation with a wide range of road user organisations. Conspicuity could be a possible area for consideration, but at present there are no such proposals.
