To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will increase the basic eligibility wage level to applicants for the travel-to-interview scheme.

Following a recent review of the eligibility criteria for the travel-to-interview scheme, it has been decided to increase the upper salary limit to £16,500 with effect from 11 September 1989.
